A disabled queer food blogger and recipe developer based in Northern Ireland.

Hi there! My name is Karolyn and I’m so happy you stopped by. I’m a food blogger and recipe creator from Ireland, and I live in a beautiful little seaside town with my wife and our dog Wyn.

One of my biggest dreams is to open a small cafe filled with botanical plants where I can host inclusive, family-style dinners for the queer community.

As a disabled, queer person (my pronouns are she/they), I started the Spoonie Chef food blog to share my love of cooking and to show that a disability doesn’t have to hold you back from pursuing your passions. In the kitchen, I find solace and creativity, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.

On my blog, you’ll find a range of recipes that are easy to follow and accessible for all dietary needs, there will also be some gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. I also offer helpful tips for creating tasty meals using pre-prepared ingredients and practical advice for using kitchen aids. And for those days when energy is limited, I’m developing recipes with lower effort levels to make cooking more manageable.

In addition to blogging my own delicious recipes, I also offer food photography and recipe development  services for restaurants/small food businesses and food producers looking to improve their social media presence with awesome photos.

I’m also open to reviews, promotions, sponsored posts, collaborations, recipe development, and more. If you like what I’m creating and want to work together, please don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d love to connect!
